Reminders This Week




1.    Read to your child 20 minutes every day and ask questions for understanding.
2.    Bring your child to the nearest library or any book store and find books good for him or her to read. Guide the child towards books that teach good rapport and conduct towards others.
3.    Picture Day, Tuesday, November 6th. Wear Mass Uniform for pictures. Bring P.E. Uniform to change.
4.    It is important that you attend the Parent-Teacher Conference beginning Wednesday this week. If unable to make time(s) given, please schedule an early conference. I am available to meet at 7:30 AM as long as I know that you requested for that time. Please call school office for schedule.
5.    Noon Dismissal on Wednesday and Thursday.

Red Ribbon Week



Monday :  Sock it to Drugs! Wear  Red and crazy socks ( Free dress) Kicking off  Red Ribbon Week
Pep Rally at 12:30 skit by Student Council.
Peace out to Drugs.
Tuesday: Brush off Drugs! Bring clean hairbrushes/toothbrushes to donate to the Salvation Army.
Wednesday: Team Up Against Drugs!  Wear your
favorite team jersey with jeans. assembly in hall. Cheer performs
Thursday:  Hoops for Health  & volley against drugs
At lunch– playing music , shooting baskets , and playing volleyball. Video on Drugs.
Friday: Tie a Knot on Drugs for all those who have Drug
Abuse. Wear red ribbon or red tie . With mass uniform.  ( mass  dedicated to those with abuse.
Cupcake Decorating contest.. 25c, each . All money will go to a Drug prevention center. In Philippine's . See flyer below.



We would  like to invite all students Pre K– 8th to participate  in a  Red Ribbon cupcake Contest. This Friday we are asking students to  bring in decorated cupcakes that represent the Best Me is Drug Free. Cupcakes will be judged on creativity and theme. Please drop off all cupcakes Friday morning in the office with name and grade. Prizes will be given to top three winners.
We will  be selling them at recess for  25c . All the proceeds will be sent to the Philippine's to   Isang Araw—One Day at a time a Drug Prevention Center.

Reminders



  1. Read to your child daily for 20 minutes.  Ask questions for understanding.  Encourage students to do reading every day. 
  2. All blankets must be washed on Fridays.
  3. Those who wish to help in the classroom must be fingerprinted and VIRTUS trained.
  4. Halloween Costumes must reflect Catholicity of our school.  No gory and scandalous themed costumes.

Reminders this Week



  • Costumes must be in for rehearsals in classroom on Tuesday, October 2nd.


  •  All K students must be in Room 5 by 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 6th (fully costumed for the Festival.) 
  •  Students need to be present up until the end of the whole school performance, part of the finale.  Parents must be with their children at all times and/or vice-versa.  No child will be dropped off in school and be left on their own.

  •  Noon Dismissal this Friday due to Festival set-up.

  •  Sunday Family Mass at 11:00 A.M.

  • No school on Monday, October 8th.

Reminders



  • COSTUME inspection tomorrow, September 25th.
  • ART BASKET – All parents need to submit the items to Mrs. Parvinjah no later than Wednesday. We need to have our basket ready to be submitted to the Festival Committee.
  •  October is the month of the Holy Rosary.  It is essential that children are exposed to the devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary at this stage.  Praying “Hail Mary” on a daily basis especially in the month of October helps our children know that our Blessed Mother plays an important role in faith formation.
  •  BACK TO SCHOOL FUNDRAISER – Tuesday, September 25th, 5:30-8:30 P.M. at Shakey’s, 1955 S. Atlantic Blvd., Monterey Park, CA 91754. Proceeds will go to the Cheerleaders’ pom-pom and other service projects of the club.  Hope to see you there.
  •  Wear P.E. Uniform on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

News for the Week


  •  9/11 Lighting Ceremony will be after the 8:30 A.M School Mass. Students may wear red, white and blue. Please bring cupcakes to share with buddies.
  • Fundraising turn-in date: 9/14
  •  For October 6th / October Fest Participation:  
    • Parents need to purchase costumes. You may go on a website titled: Candy Apple Costumes) which specializes on animal costumes. (i.e. lion, tiger, monkey, leopard, safari costumes, Simba, etc.)  If the price is way too much for your pocket book, please have someone sew the costume for you. You may go to Jo-Ann's Fabrics for patterns.  You may decide on what your child can wear as long as it is an ANIMAL COSTUME.  You may also visit Halloween Costumes.Com
    • Costume inspection for each child will be on September 26th.  
    •  Please don't forget to sell raffle tickets.
    •  If you have not signed in for booth times, please contact room mom, Mrs. Parvinjah. 

    • Please turn-in items for auction basket.
Your support is very much appreciated.
  • Please remember that it is essential to INSPECT on a daily basis the back pack of your child.  Pencils and essentials must be in their back pack. 
  •   Wear P.E. Uniform on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Mass Uniform on Fridays.
